A County organised orienteering competition run over two days at a secret destination, where teams of six Explorers (carrying tents and cooking equipment) compete against other Explorer Teams from across the County. Last year (2009) we took four teams and came 3rd, 7th, 11th and 15th (out of 20 entered) - but this year with a more experienced group I am hoping to do even better.

Staghorn 10th - 11th April 2010

Based at Ullesthorpe District Campsite, this is our yearly activity weekend where we support our local Scout Groups as they take part in a challenging Night Hike and ongoing Incident. This year we will be running all eight bases and also providing shadow walkers.

It is my intention to take six teams of four to this event this year, we took one team of four last year (2009) and came third, - the event is similar to John Bradbury Trophy, a one day activity Hike carrying minimal kit on the Saturday, then an awards ceremony and home early afternoon on the Sunday. It is held near Bolton, and we will be leaving as early as we can on the Friday night.

I am fixing the cost at £33 per person, which will include entry fee, transport and food (other than pack lunch on the Saturday which you will need to bring with you).
